In the spring of 2017, a five-alarm fire broke out at Standard Auto Wreckers in Scarborough, located within Rouge National Urban Park. The suspicious circumstances surrounding this event led to a speculative inquiry into two organizations active in the area: the Orange Jackets, a group of environmental activists engaged in direct action, and Scarborough Sourdough, an independent bakery cultivating sourdough culture in Scarborough.

of fiction and faction is a two-channel video installation and material record following this inquiry, a collection of objects and narratives that trace the groups’ connection to a potential revolutionary uprising in suburbia.
